What Happens During the External Installation? – V4 Consumer
Text reads “What happens during the external installation?” with an icon of a technician and gear, representing fibre setup at your home.

The external installation is a crucial first step in setting up your new fibre optic connection with V4 Consumer. Here’s what happens:

Fibre Optic Cable Installation

  • Cable Routing:
Our installation team will pull a fibre optic cable through the existing lead-in duct or along the existing aerial route to bring the fibre cable to your premises.
  • External Demarcation Point:
The fibre optic cable is brought to what we refer to as the ‘External Demarcation Point,’ typically located near where your current copper telephone cable enters your property.

Installing the External Box

  • Mounting the Box:
A small box will be installed on the external wall of your premises. This box serves as the connection point for the fibre optic cable.
  • Box Dimensions: The dimensions of the box are as follows:
    • Width: 125mm
    • Height: 180mm
    • Depth: 40mm
The external installation is handled with care to ensure minimal disruption to your property.

Once this stage is complete, your fibre connection will be ready for the next step—bringing the connection inside your home to deliver high-speed broadband directly to your devices.
